Working with Sales Commissions

In Cashflow you can define a sales commission structure for this particular employees (salesperson) or you can set it on employee groups (Salespeople).

Set commissions to employees individually

To set employees sales commissions,

Set employee’s sales commissions
  1. In the main menu, click on Masters, then click on Employees.
  2. In the Employee’s list, click on the Action menu and then click on the Edit option.
  3. Enable the employee is a salesperson option.
  4. In the Commissions Tab, enable if the employee receives Sales CommissionsCollections Commissions or both.
  5. Set the Commission Type.
  6. Set the Calculated By method.
  7. If the commission type is Fixed, complete the fields FromToCommission % and enable if these salespeople can yield commissions.
  8. If the commission type is Tiered, complete the FromTo and Commission % for every tier level.
  9. To add more tier levels, click on the (+) Add button and repeat step 5.

[4] Fixed Commission Type allows you to define a fixed percentage of commission to a sales volume range. You can combine base salary + sales commissions for the sale volume or calculate commissions only after a base sales volume has been reached.

[5] Tiered Commission Type allows you to define commissions based on sales goals. You can add new tier levels by clicking on the (+) Button. This allows you to motivate salespeople to continue closing deals, even after they’ve reach their primary goals.

[3] Calculated By

In the Total Sales Volume option, commissions are calculated based on total sales volume for a period.

In the Per Transactions option, commissions will be calculated on a per-transaction basis.

[4] Yield Commissions allows you to set if the salesperson could yield part of his commission in order to make a sale.

When done, click on Save.

Setting sales commissions on employee groups

To set employees sales commissions on a group level,

  1. In the main menu, go to Masters, then click on Masters Groups.
  2. In the Masters’ group list, click on the Action menu and then click on the Edit option.
  3. Enable Salespeople option.
  4. In the Commissions Tab, enable if the employee receives Sales CommissionsCollections Commissions or both.
  5. Set the Commission Type.
  6. Set the Calculated By method.
  7. If the commission type is Fixed, complete the fields FromToCommission % and enable if these salespeople can yield commissions.
  8. If the commission type is Tiered, complete the FromTo and Commission % for every tier level.
  9. To add more tier levels, click on the (+) Add button and repeat step 5.

Generating sales commissions reports

To generate sales commission reports,

  1. In the main menu, go to Reports.
  2. Browse or Search “Sales commission”.
  3. When found, click on the report name.
  4. On the report’s page, select All or a particular salesperson from the salesperson field.
  5. Choose the period’s start date and end date.
  6. Click on Generate.
